Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our propane company, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently. This position requires strong leadership skills and a background in propane gas and equipment maintenance. The Assistant General Manager will work closely with the management team to deliver exceptional customer service, manage business operations, staffing, safety compliance, financial performance and maintain high standards within the organization.
Duties
Assist in overseeing daily operational activities of the company, including propane distribution, delivery schedules, inventory management, and customer service while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Provide leadership, supervise, training, develop and guidance to team members, fostering a positive work environment. Ensure staffing levels are appropriate and maintain high employee morale and performance.
Support service technicians in troubleshooting propane issues and equipment repair.
Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies necessary for operations.
Build strong relationships with customers by providing excellent service and addressing their needs promptly. Support the organization in resolving issues, managing inquiries, and ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met. Conduct regular safety audits and training for all employees.
Collaborate with the leadership team and marketing teams to develop strategies for business growth. Assist in pricing strategies, product offerings, and promotions.
Assist in maintaining relationships with suppliers and vendors, assist in negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery of products and services.
Requirements
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
Experience in propane gas, including installation, maintenance, and repair.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Familiarity with safety regulations related to Propane operations is preferred.
Willingness to obtain Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), certifications in Hazmat, Air Brakes, Tanker Endorsement, gas tank and/or line maintenance repair, and any other certifications the company deems necessary.
