Homes and economic opportunities by and for the Siċaŋġu Lak̇ota people

We are here to create a community that works for our people—designed to honor the way we live, work, play and pray as Siċaŋġu Lakota.

From its very beginning, Keya Wakpala has been shaped and guided by community voices speaking what they need and want, including dedicated space for food and agriculture, livelihood, and recreation. The homes will be culturally-relevant, adaptable to all family sizes and generations, with room for visitors as well as future growth.

This 590+ acre site will eventually incorporate athletic facilities, sports fields, a network of walking, biking and hiking trails, small business incubators, retail, restaurants, as well as many other businesses and amenities.

Below are some examples of our home designs!

**Final design will vary depending on number of bedrooms, style, etc.**

We want to hear from you!

The purpose of this survey is to collect information from enrolled members of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe about their housing needs, preferences, and challenges and to understand the potential demand for new housing in the planned Keya Wakpala Woiċaġeyapi.

Keya Wakpala Woiċaġeyapi (Turtle Creek Regenerative Development) will be a living community that nourishes the Siċaŋġu spirit and way of life. The Keya Wakpala (KW) site comprises 590+ acres that eventually will be home to anywhere from 200-600 affordable and accessible quality-built, energy efficient homes, near community gardens and a multi-use gathering space, with places for people to shop and work and for children to play together. Keya Wakpala offers a pathway to reclaiming who we are as the Siċaŋġu Lak̇ota Oyate.
