JOB SUMMARY:
The Finance Officer for Grants and Donations provides comprehensive financial and administrative support to the organization, including colleagues, clients, and stakeholders. This role is responsible for all aspects of financial management, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with established policies and procedures. Reporting to the CFO this role supports and is responsible to managers overseeing funded programs at REDCO and its nonprofit partners Sicangu CDC and Tatanka Funds.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
The Finance Officer for Grants and Donations oversees the following key areas:
● Financial reporting and analysis
● Grants compliance
● Grant reconciliation and closeout
● Budget preparation and management
● Cash flow management and internal controls
● Banking operations and account reconciliation
● Policy development and implementation
● Team leadership and supervision
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
● Support the tracking and monitoring of grant expenditures, ensuring compliance with budget limitations and allowable costs.
● Oversee the preparation and submission of accurate and timely financial reports to funding agencies.
● Ensure compliance with all grant terms and conditions, including reporting requirements, performance measures, and closeout procedures.
● Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and internal controls.
● Assist with internal and external audits, including pre-audit preparation and post-audit adjustments.
● Serve as a key point of contact for other departments and subsidiaries on financial and accounting matters as it pertains to grants and donations.
● Supervise and mentor Grants staff, providing guidance and support.
● Support leadership with special projects and initiatives as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
● Associate's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or related field (required)
● Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, economics, or related field (preferred)
● Three years in a grants offer or related role (required)
● Three years experience in non-profit finance (preferred)
● Proficient in computerized accounting programs (QuickBooks, Intacct)
● Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and federal regulations related to financial assistance
● Strong communication skills
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
