REPORT: Youth Internship Coordinator
CLASSIFICATION: Contract
LOCATION: Sicangu Co Headquarters Mission, SD
COMPENSATION: $17.50/hour, 35 hours per week for the duration of the internship
JOB SUMMARY:
The assistant Summer Intern Mentor will serve as a role model and mentor for participants (ages 16 – 24) in the 7Gen Summer Youth Internship. The Assistant Summer Intern Mentor will support the Youth Internship Coordinator to create a safe, engaging, and meaningful internship experience. The successful candidate will be reliable, self-motivated, able to handle confidential information, as well as demonstrate the ability to handle changing priorities. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers and community members.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as a positive role model for the interns
Photograph and film internal events, staff activities, and day-to-day office life within the 7Gen Internship.
Maintain a well-organized digital media library, ensuring that content is properly labeled and categorized.
Ensure high-quality and visually appealing content that accurately reflects the culture and work environment.
Organize and upload all captured media (photos, videos) to designated internal drives for easy access and archival.
Create a content schedule with the Youth Internship Coordinator and Marketing.
Motivate interns to stay engaged with all internship activities
Participate in all internship activities alongside interns and encourage collaboration
Communicate any challenges or intern concerns to the Youth Internship Coordinator
Assist interns with their community projects
Adapt to evolving responsibilities, as directed by internship staff
Additional duties as assigned
RECRUITMENTS:

Experience working with youth, including supporting, encouraging, and/or mentoring.
High School Diploma or GED
Strong interest in media, photography, videography, and storytelling
Basic experience with camera equipment, video editing software, and photo editing tools
Ability to serve as a role model to 20 summer interns
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize
Ability to work in both a collaborative team setting as well as independently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with Office 365 products (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must have dependable transportation
Must pass a comprehensive background check
